As a Procurement Excellence and Operations Manager, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will meet the challenge to bring structured thinking, facilitation, execution, and focus to procurement practices, processes, and solutions including automation, digital improvements. Using your specialized knowledge and in-depth expertise, you will provide oversight, coordination, support, and continuous improvements for our day-to-day procurement operations, including tools and methods, in line with the Delivery chapter’s visions.

You will work closely with procurement, IT (incl. business process management, project management, regional solution centers), and other relevant colleagues either as a peer, coach, project/workstream lead, or subject matter expert, to align on needs, opportunity identification, and priority to develop, enhance, or deploy enabling services and solutions and respective governance to our internal customers.

Your key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as domain knowledge and subject matter specialist, providing input, advice, and know-how on functional operations, automation, efficiency, and procurement processes.
  • Excellence practitioner identifying and facilitating continuous improvement opportunities, and overseeing Procurement delivery day-to-day operations.
  • Excellence advocates accelerating the advancement of harmonized upstream practices, automation utilisation in the downstream, E2E procurement processes and solutions for the Delivery Chapter, and continuous improvement of our procurement operations.
  • Coordinate the identification, consolidation, validation, and submission of site-specific process and systems maintenance and enhancement requests for ongoing improvement. Conduct/ support User Acceptance Testing as needed.
  • Lead and/or support the implementation of, and compliance to regional process and policy changes, including local process documentation updates, localization, and training.
  • Manage/ Oversee / Support Operational Procurement Audit compliance i.e. vendor add/change audit activities, banking information verification audit, and other operational audit support.
  • Provide input into systems settings, including relevant local data, organizational setups (i.e. purchasing group, routing logic), and other information needed to operationalize systems.
  • Assisting with complex purchasing and with guiding Shared Service Center (SSC) escalations as appropriate.
  • Conceptualizing and prototyping ideas by creating basic tools in partnership with stakeholders and procurement teams.
  • You will work within the broader global team and GP networks and squads to determine the other various roles needed to deliver project and foundational work.

Qualifications:

  • You hold a university degree, with a business or information technology degree preferable. You also have 5+ years within procurement operational procurement, technology management, or process management, ideally in a matrix organization, and demonstrated deep conceptual knowledge and experience of procurement practices, processes and solution management and oversight.
  • The ability to explain general capability area information to others and/or collect/translate moderately complex stakeholder requirements
  • Ability to understand process/system variation at each local site to ensure local requirements are represented while maintaining global ideal process perspective.
  • Experience with Procurement requisition and procure to pay systems and processes
  • Experience in leading or supporting value improvement programs utilizing lean or agile project

Management Methodologies:

  • Depth in Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies is preferred
  • Experience with enterprise systems and procure to pay and eSourcing tools
  • Business level fluency in English (German may be beneficial for certain positions).
