Plant Engineer

Our client generates hundreds of millions in revenue with over 700 employees and are looking to hire a Plant Engineer for their location in Langley. You’re overseeing 4 different plants. Working as the Plant Engineer, you will be reporting to the VP of Operations (West) while working together with the VP of Engineering who is working in a different location. We are looking for someone who is analytical, with great problem-solving skills and can take leadership. Our client has been continually growing for years and this is a great opportunity for someone experienced to join. You will be earning a competitive salary along with great bonuses!

Your tasks as Plant Engineer:

• Required to support the company corporate strategic plan through devising and implementing engineering projects to improve safety, and overall to increase output, efficiency and supporting lean manufacturing principles

• In charge of overseeing activities and participating in the improvement of projects

• Conduct investigations on technology upgrades and improvements

• Conduct research regarding technology upgrades and improvements to the operations team

• Researching product development opportunities and making recommendations

• Ensure the coordination of project implementation that fits the production needs

• Use your engineering expertise to support capital and expense projects which include engineering design, equipment requirements, sourcing, justification of costs, purchasing, supervision, and lastly commissioning and training

• Oversee Plant Maintenance department

• Assist with analysis of quality issues and develop solutions to fix them

Qualifications as a Plant Engineer

• 10 years working as a Plant Engineer within Food Manufacturing (food, packaging, pulp, or paper)

• Engineer Degree within Mechanical or Electrical

• 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within a maintenance team

• P.Eng or open to working towards it

• Proficient with Microsoft Office along with project automation experience

• Experience with Auto-cad and/or other inventory systems

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience with polystyrene foam thermoforming and extrusion is considered an asset

• Experience with pulp, paper, and moulded pulp in a related industry is considered an asset
