Specific responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:
·Work in conjunction with Human Resources in the processing of new hires, rehires, transfers, terminations, employee benefits, etc.
·Provide advice to employees as it relates to payroll, scheduling and attendance tracking
·Monitor weekly time entry processes, export, validate, balance and import hours from timekeeping systems into payroll system
·Assist with year-end reconciliation audit including the production of T4’s, W2s T4 Summary.
·Support the department with review and maintenance of operational processes
·Data management and generate month-end reports (i.e. KPI’s)
·Update quality and consistency of HRIS Time Management module and payroll database information
·Audit, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and ESA guidelines
Succeeding as a Payroll Coordinator will require the following core qualifications and skills:
·1+ years of Canadian and U.S. payroll experience in a high volume, full cycle environment
·Post-secondary education an asset
·PCP, FPC certification or in progress
·Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
·Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of management within the organization
·Strong knowledge of payroll related taxation rules/ laws
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills dealing with regular and complex problems
·Skilled at handling confidential information using tact and discretion
·Proficient with MS Office application and intermediate to advanced level of experience with Excel
·Deadline driven and able to work well in both structured and unstructured environments
·Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
·Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
·Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
