Outside Technical Sales Representative

Our client is currently seeking an Outside Technical Sales Representative in the province of Quebec. They are a leader in their industry and offer a very competitive compensation and benefit package.

Responsibilities

  • Become a product expert – you must possess the technical competency to articulate operation,

features/benefits, and competitive advantage to customers

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current customers in an effort to gain and grow business
  • Develop account growth plans and forecasting
  • Be proactive by hunting for new sales opportunities through cold calling and networking, while nurturing and maximizing existing client relationships (development vs. maintenance=60-40%)
  • Using company’s CRM, provide weekly sales call reports detailing new activity and project updates
  • Work with Management Team to develop objectives, goals, business plans, forecasts and budgets
  • Remain knowledgeable of current market conditions, competitor activities, and industry advances
  • Work with internal departments to ensure the company business objectives are being met
  • Road vs. Home Office – 80 to 20%

Education

  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical/Electronic Diploma, Instrumentation/Automation Technology Diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Solid sales background in supporting customers and meeting their requirements
  • Minimum of 3–6 years in instrumentation sales (preferably from an instrumentation distributor)
  • Proven track record of continually meeting and exceeding sales targets and new account development

Knowledge/Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Quebec instrumentation landscape
  • Advanced knowledge of process/test & measure instruments/controls, systems, applications and related equipment
  • Chemical, electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Sales professional with effective negotiating skills
