Operations Supervisor
We are currently hiring for a skilled, experienced, hands-on Operations Supervisor, who is equally as comfortable working on a warehouse floor, as they are in the office. The working environment can include significant time spent on a computer and/or on the phone. A successful candidate will be equally as comfortable in a cross dock / warehouse environment, dispatch environment and office environment. Periodic travel for meetings and development will be required. A self-starter with initiative and proven flexibility in terms of shifts, time of day and location are essential to success. As this position is a Leadership position and is responsible for the successful execution of a Team, the ability to work with minimal direction, and to match one’s time with the work to be completed in the best possible manner is critical.

Pay: $55 000-$60,000.00 per year

Schedule:
- 9-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a fast paced and high-volume LTL operation though a team, dispatchers and front line employees.
- Coach and develop team members using a positive attitude, collaboration, clear communication, and direction.
- Make informed decisions based on safety, service, and productivity standards, with an understanding of company processes, policies and procedures.
- Initiate and lead process and customer experience improvements, while meeting deadlines and controlling costs.
- Understanding and use of key metrics used to manage terminal performance, including Safety, on-time delivery and freight flow, on-time closes
- Recognize problems and work with others towards a practical and speedy resolution.
- Expertise in managing owner-operators, agency drivers and/or company drivers.
- Strong understanding of administrative functions and the ability to manage that workforce.
- Other related duties related as may be required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in transportation or logistics preferred however practical experience within the industry will be considered
- 3-5 years’ experience in a terminal setting, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Experience leading a team of front-line employees, managers, and supervisors
- Contributing to the development of and managing to an annual operating budget.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to get things done through others and people development.
- Computer skills with MS Office products and web-based programs. Experience with AS400 a definite asset
- Experience operating a sit down propane forklift

- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Leads teams of supervisors, lead hands and front-line employees in a 24/7 environment.
- Management: 5 years (Preferred)
- LTL Transportation: 5 years (Preferred)
