Our valued client in the Parcel Delivery Service Division of the Mass Media Industry, located in Moncton New Brunswick is looking for an Operations Manager for their Sorting Facility. Our client is an award-winning news media and innovative product development company. Their Parcel Delivery Service Division deals with companies like Amazon to support delivery of their parcels. The ideal Operations Manager will have a strong work ethic and earn the respect of their team, leading by example and exhibiting the skills and mindset they are looking to establish. This Operations Manager will be extremely flexible in their schedule, will dive into the role immediately and bring strong leadership to the team each day. This Operations Manager will direct the daily activities of the warehouse, including labour scheduling, supervision and the proper utilization of manpower, equipment and space for the safe, high quality and productive delivery of parcels to their client.

Your tasks as an Operations Manager, Sorting Facility:

·Direct operations of the warehouse team to achieve outlined objectives, handle daily meetings, and offer regular communication to establish clear, ambitious, attainable goals.

·Develop and direct work plans to ensure appropriate staffing levels are always met, including long range planning of labour needs based on customer sales forecasts and management requirements.

·Together, with other members of Management, establish and execute operations procedures for various activities: Ingoing and outgoing shipments, scanning of inbound parcels, handling inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs.

·Develop and oversee programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and of the warehouse.

·Develop and oversee programs to ensure safety of all staff, equipment, and property according to company polices

·Continuously assess, train, coach, mentor and develop personnel both informally and through formal training programs, provide performance review-based feedback

·Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirement of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirement are met

·Report all IT issues

·Conduct business with honesty and trustworthiness and respect in all actions and behaviour

·Coordinate recruitment process for operations

·Motivate and develop team members by providing regular feedback, documenting performance, and completing on time performance appraisals

·Ensure all SOP’s and company polices are implemented and consistently communicated and executed

·Responsible to implement and train team members on all policies and procedures including: Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety Training including equipment training, WorkSafe, Loss Prevention, Human Resource Policies

The requirements of an Operations Manager, Sorting Facility:

·Post-secondary College education with a focus on Leadership, logistics and supply chain

·5-10 years of Management experience in a DC/Logistics environment with exposure to advance Warehouse Management Systems

·Proven ability to manage projects with a short to medium term focus while concurrently managing day-to-day operations

·Advanced knowledge of Company/Industry policies and procedure and practices including but not limited to: Employment Standards, WorkSafe, Health & Safety and Loss Prevention practices

·Up-to-date knowledge of the activities, competition, as well as current and upcoming trends and regulatory issues within the retail industry

·Strong leadership and change management skills

·Excellent organization, planning, and documentation skills

·Innovative problem solving and sound decision-making abilities

·Strong customer service skills are required.

·Material handling equipment certification

·Ability to verbally communicate with customers and staff to understand what is required.

·Strong computer skills required, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of product
