Operations Manager Opportunity – Brampton, ON

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Support: Oversee daily operations and guide Route Managers, ensuring a strong focus on safety, service excellence, and cost efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement and maintain safety protocols in line with Company, OH&S, and industry standards. Lead root cause investigations for any incidents, followed by coaching and retraining as needed.
  • Team Management: Manage departmental personnel needs, including hiring, coaching, training, and performance evaluations. Handle employee relations, including compensation, promotions, and terminations.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and execute both short-term and long-term goals and action plans.
  • Budget Oversight: Participate in regular P&L reviews, ensuring budgets are met. Develop programs to optimize equipment utilization, maintenance, and labor and material costs.
  • Community & Client Relations: Engage with local municipalities and agencies to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, enhance operational efficiency, and negotiate contracts.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility, contributing to the company’s success.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Associate degree (accredited) is required, along with a High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  • Industry Experience: At least 2 years in the transportation industry, with 4+ years in a supervisory role or with P&L responsibilities.
  • Skillset: Proven experience in operations management, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial oversight, and HR functions.
  • Safety Leadership: Strong track record of implementing safety programs and equipment specifications.
  • Budgeting Expertise: Proficient in preparing and managing budgets, as well as resolving labor relations issues.
  • Licenses: A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
