The Role:

Our client is a family-owned food manufacturer specializing in organic and natural foods. You will be working in a new and large facility in Burnaby with about 100 employees. The company was founded in 2009 and is currently experiencing high growth. There are 2 manufacturing sites located nearby. We are seeking a Millwright who is looking for a permanent long-term opportunity.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager this person will repair mechanical issues of facility machinery.


  • $25-42/hour (depending on experience)

  • Ensure all plant equipment, systems, and facilities are always kept in safe operational order.
  • Facility maintenance and upkeep (food production machinery: conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, labelers, roasters etc.)
  • Ensure the maintenance, repair, and mechanical issues of the machines when tasked by a supervisor or manager
  • Performing and adjusting preventative maintenance to improve the overall function of the machinery
  • Ensure the work area is maintained well and cleaned, performing your daily tasks, while recording forms such as daily mechanical maintenance and repair
  • Provide technical support to our production team during runtime hours to ensure optimal functionality of all production equipment within the facility.
  • Troubleshoot/repair equipment when called, and address the root cause
  • New equipment installation/commissioning
  • Maintain high level of cleanliness and organization in the maintenance shop


  • 3 years of experience working as a Millwright/Maintenance performing preventative & reactive maintenance on production equipment; experienced in food or packaging environment is an asset.
  • Red Seal Millwright or Electrician certification would be an asset but is not required (will consider and apprentice).
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and problem solving skills
