Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: Oakville, Ontario – Full-time, in-office
Office Hours: Monday to Friday – 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (with flexibility to adjust based on global time zone requirements)
Salary: $80k to $90k base, commensurate with experience

As the Logistics Manager, you will oversee global logistics operations, contributing to the seamless delivery of essential goods and ensuring the efficiency of a fast-paced supply chain.

Responsibilities:
As the Logistics Manager, your primary role will be to ensure the smooth coordination of the logistics function, with a focus on efficiency, cost management, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation and delivery operations, ensuring timely and efficient supply chain processes.
- Freight Management: Build and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and shipping providers. Negotiate rates, manage contracts, and select the best vendors for cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management to ensure accurate levels and alignment with procurement and sales objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards, especially for food products.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to streamline operations and address any logistical challenges.
- Cost Optimization: Actively monitor transportation costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate contracts to optimize spend.
- Technology Utilization: Use logistics software (e.g., Agro Flow, SAP, TMS) to track shipments, forecast demand, and analyze performance metrics.
- Problem Solving: Resolve logistical issues such as delays, damage, or documentation discrepancies while maintaining clear and proactive communication with stakeholders.
- Sustainability: Support environmentally conscious logistics practices and align with the company’s sustainability values.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of logistics or supply chain management experience, preferably in the agricultural or commodities sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of international shipping, customs documentation, and compliance regulations. Experience with dry container logistics (ocean, rail, trucking, intermodal) and cross-border shipments (US-Canada) is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., Agro Flow, SAP, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to work independently, manage costs, make informed decisions quickly, and lead by example in a high-pressure environment.
- Desired Knowledge: Familiarity with customs documentation for food products is a plus.
