Technical skills in preparing technical working drawings (grading and layout plans, planting plans, construction details)
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
Plant knowledge and identification: trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials
Landscape & horticulture education and training/certifications
Proficiency in SketchUp is an asset
Strong organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge & Skills
5-8 years of experience working in a professional landscape position
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm and passion for landscape architecture and design.
Capable of effectively meeting deadlines
Experience & knowledge in planting and caring for plants, flowers, garden bed and planter design.
Pesticide knowledge and asset
Knowledge of safe operation of all types of landscape tools required for turf care such as power mowers, push mowers, ride on mowers, line trimmers, blowers, snow blowers, hedge trimmers, and other equipment, as required
Knowledge of safe operation of all types of heavy equipment tools such as loaders, skid steers, mini excavators, snow blowers, and other landscape maintenance equipment, as required.
Knowledge of other landscaping and snow removal dutie
Proven ability to lead and organize teams
Willingness to work in a cooperative, team-oriented environment
Ability to supervise and work outdoors in various weather conditions (summer and winter)
Flexible and able to report to work during winter storms as needed
G Driver’s license (required)
Second Language an asset (Portuguese/Spanish)
