Position Title: Inspector AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)

Location: Mississauga (Derry Road and Creditview Road)

Job Summary:

The Inspector AOI will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of electronic assemblies and surface mount components through meticulous inspection using a microscope, as well as operating the X-ray Machine and the Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Machine when required. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality control procedures within the electronic assembly process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) on electronic assemblies and surface mount components.
• Operate the X-Ray Machine to inspect components and assemblies for potential defects.
• Utilize the AOI Machine to conduct automated optical inspections.
• Thoroughly inspect electronic assemblies and surface mount components for adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure compliance with IPC 610 – Acceptability of Electronic Assembly standards.
• Maintain a strong understanding of workmanship standards and apply them consistently.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic assembly, particularly with Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
• Prior inspection experience is essential.
• Knowledge of IPC 610 standards – Acceptability of Electronic Assembly is essential, certification is preferred.
• Previous experience using AOI and X-Ray equipment is preferred.
• Strong comprehension and application of workmanship standards.
• Thorough understanding and application of quality standards and control procedures.

Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (1 Position Open)

Salary: $18.00 per hour

Number of Positions: 1

Mandate Length: Temporary to Permanent

Physical Requirements: Light work – up to 20 lbs (9 kg)

Other Comments:

Minimum of 2 years of electronic assembly experience, particularly with Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
