Our client is a fully integrated contractor located in the GTA looking for someone to manage 3 people and add value long term

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
  • Manage, input and prepare payroll with the external vendor and manage the ROE/T4/Termination/Severance issues related to payroll and HR process
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Manage accounts payables/receivables and provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Prepare and file EHT, WSIB, Payroll and HST/QST
  • Work with HR to handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance their professional development
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information
  • Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, coordinating collection, consolidation, and evaluating financial data
  • Complies with federal and provincial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA required
  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least 5 years of supervisory/management experience in an accounting department
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional Excel and QuickBooks knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team Assist the company with strategic planning and growth initiatives
