Fuze HR is seeking responsible, detail-oriented individuals to assist with exam administration at a college in Kingston during the Fall 2024 exam period. This temporary position is ideal for candidates looking for experience in an academic setting.

Position Overview:

  • Location: Navy Way, Kingston, Ontario & Precision Drive, Kingston Ontario
  • Exam Period: December 5 – December 17, 2024

Shifts Available:

  • Gym Support Staff: Morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) shifts, assisting in the main exam hall.
  • Accommodation Support Staff: Full-day shifts in the SWING SPACE building, supporting students with special accommodations.

Compensation: $17.20 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Team 1 – Gym Support Staff (SAM Gym)

Gym Support Staff will ensure a smooth, organized exam process in the main examination hall.

  • Arrival and Setup: Arrive at the SAM Gym by 8:00 AM to receive instructions.
    • Arrange exams, answer sheets, and row signs on designated desks.
    • Collect students’ cell phones before the exam, storing them securely until completion.
    • Ensure the room is organized, quiet, and distraction-free.
  • Monitoring and Escorting:
    • Maintain order and quiet during exams, escort students to and from washrooms as needed.
    • Manage the logbook for washroom and any permitted phone usage.
  • Desk and Room Reset: Clear desks between sessions and at the end of each day.
    • Remove used materials, dust desks, and arrange the space for the next session.
  • Lunch Break: Scheduled from 12:15 – 1:15 PM.

Team 2 – Accommodation Support Staff (SWING SPACE Building)

Accommodation Support Staff will support students requiring special accommodations.

  • Arrival: Arrive at the SWING SPACE building by 8:00 AM.
  • Student Assistance: Provide consistent support to students with accommodations.
    • Greet and escort students to designated rooms, assist as needed.
    • Escort students to washrooms, ensuring availability for prompt support.
    • Maintain a quiet, organized testing environment.

Requirements

  • Punctuality and Reliability: Timely attendance is critical. Candidates must arrive promptly.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure materials are correctly placed and protocols followed.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a respectful, calm demeanor to support a stress-free environment.
  • Physical Stamina: Gym Support Staff must be able to stand, walk, and assist students. Accommodation Support Staff should be prepared for a full-day shift (with scheduled breaks).
  • Gender Balance Requirement: A minimum of one male and one female Gym Support Staff member is required daily for gender-sensitive support.
  • Consistency for Accommodation Role: Preferably, the same individual should fill the Accommodation Support role throughout the exam period.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation is required to arrive at the College on time.

Schedule Overview

Daily staffing requirements may vary. Staff may be scheduled for multiple shifts as needed.

  • Exam Dates: December 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17, 2024.
  • Shift Times:
    • Gym Support Staff: AM shift (8:00 AM – 12:15 PM), PM shift (1:15 PM – 5:00 PM)
    • Accommodation Support Staff: Full-day shift (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
