Our client is looking for e Director of Contracts, the ideal candidate is results-driven with a focus on customer service who is a problem solver with excellent leadership skills and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Your tasks as a director of construction contracts:

  • Prepare master schedules for projects including design, drawings, approvals, production, delivery, shipping and erection
  • Conduct job review meetings with Project Mangers, Engineering, Plant and Field crews
  • Manage cost control on projects including monitoring budgets and reviewing job cost
  • Ensure that projects are on time, within scope and on budget
  • Identifying and monitoring both internal and external changes to scope of work; acquire customer change orders and payments
  • Manage 4-5 people
  • Ensure compliance to organizational procedures and coordinate communications between Review contracts with Sales, Estimating and Contract Administration (Legal) to ensure that pricing, plans, specifications, scope and conditions accurately written in final documentation

The required qualifications for the director of construction:

  • A Professional Engineer with a minimum 10 years’ experience in the Construction Subtrade Space
  • Previous experience with both Canadian and US construction contracts considered to be an asset
  • PMI certification considered an asset
  • Detail-oriented coupled with proven sense of urgency and ability to balance priorities
  • Experienced in conflict resolution and possess superior communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Technologically inclined with experience specifically in Oracle software considered an asset
  • Very deadline driven
