Our client is an innovative and growing payment processing Company. They need someone with 5+ years of business development and/or account manager experience in the payment/merchant services industry to join our team to lead our business development efforts. As Director of Business Development, you will take a leading role working directly with our CEO and VP of Business Development to develop and translate key account leads into successful ongoing client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain knowledge of target market through research, experience, and relationship development;
  • Leverage analytical and empirical information to provide valuable feedback to our CEO and other senior management;
  • Work with our CEO to develop and execute business development strategies for specific key accounts as well as general business segments;
  • Supervise junior business development staff on lower priority accounts or business development support activities.
  • Leverage existing personally developed networks to generate own business leads;
  • Identify and attend relevant conferences and industry events to develop and foster relationships within specific industries, as well as develop additional leads;
  • Follow-up on inbound leads received and assess for urgency/prioritization;
  • Meet with potential clients for initial and subsequent discussions, including local and international travel as needed;

Your experience should include the following:

  • Fluency in English
  • Strong English Speaking and Writing
  • 5+ years in the payment (or related) industry
  • A strong list of merchant and B2B partner contacts
  • Self-starter who is ready to hit the ground running
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Understanding of Chinese is a bonus
