We are currently seeking an experienced Benefits and HR Specialist. This position is in Montreal’s beautiful Old Port, working for a well-established fashion company. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Benefits and HR Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Entering data regarding new hires, changes, terminations using internal software;
  • Overseeing/tracking absences;
  • Completing short-term disability forms;
  • Verifying benefits entitlements/deductions and advising payroll of any changes;
  • Drafting and sending letters to employees reflecting changes, for collections, etc.;
  • Reviewing insurance invoices; specifically, verifying monthly billing, reconciling differences, and ensuring all credits are received;
  • Answering all questions regarding benefit entitlements/payments/premiums, hours paid, etc.;
  • Providing information on sick, maternity, paternity leaves, etc.;
  • Overseeing changes in RRFS-FTQ pension software;
  • Verifying work permits, SIN and following-up on expiry dates;
  • Posting job openings, receiving and sorting CV’s;
  • Drafting reference, employment and disciplinary letters;
  • Working closely with Operations Management for any issues relating to unionized employees;
  • Verifying employee punch cards from the previous day and entering the required corrections/changes;

We are seeking a person who is a great multi-tasker and who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The HR/Benefits specialist must be fluently bilingual and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
