On behalf of our client, a leading employer in the AgriFood industry focused on growing superior quality spuds utilized for french fry processing we are searching for Commercial Farm Operations Management.

If you are currently an Assistant Farm Manager, Farm Supervisor, Farm Manager or Director of Agricultural Farming Operations this role may be for you!

Multiple openings are available in New Annan PEI and Amherst Nova Scotia for Commercial Farm Operations Management.

Your responsibilities in Commercial Farm Operations Management include:

  • Directing daily activities on a commercial farm, such as planting, harvesting, growing and storing potatoes
  • Oversee day to day operations of the farm operation and staff
  • Ensure H&S, housekeeping and sanitation are maintained to standard
  • Monitor and manage potato storage activities and inventory
  • Involvement in operational budgeting and determining capital investment opportunities
  • Implement continuous improvement efforts based on industry best practices and new technologies
  • Monitor and provide feedback to team on day to day and seasonal progress
  • Monitor all crops on a regular basis to identify insect, weed and disease risks
  • Maintain records of and report on farm and crop performance to leadership and commercial customers

Commercial Farm Operations Management Qualifications:

  • Post graduate degree or equivalent experience in Agriculture – commercial tuberous farming
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership in a farming setting
  • Capable of leading teams of up to 20 employees and directing daily activities
  • Able to be not only customer facing but the face of the business with high up decision makers within the company
  • Able to speak to budgets, forecasts and report out on farming operations in a corporate environment an asset
  • Willingness to work extended and flexible hours including weekends during peak season
  • Computer savvy, able to navigate Outlook, Microsoft, Excel skills are an asset
