Project Associate \u2013 Building Restoration Consulting
Location: Halifax, NS<\/strong><\/div>\n
We are currently seeking a Project Associate to join a dynamic Building Restoration Consulting Team in Halifax. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in building science, project delivery, and client engagement within a collaborative and technically driven environment.<\/div>\n
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both client relationships and project execution, contributing to the delivery of high-quality consulting services across a diverse portfolio of building restoration projects.<\/div>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Support the delivery of consulting services for building restoration and rehabilitation projects<\/li>\n
  • Assist with building condition assessments, evaluations, and site investigations<\/li>\n
  • Prepare depreciation reports, reserve fund studies, and comprehensive building condition assessments<\/li>\n
  • Participate in warranty reviews and assist with warranty resolution services<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and tender documents<\/li>\n
  • Conduct site reviews to monitor construction progress and investigate deficiencies<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate project activities and support overall project delivery<\/li>\n
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary consultants<\/li>\n
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, construction documentation, and project proposals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Qualifications & Requirements<\/strong><\/div>\n
      \n
    • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline from an accredited institution<\/li>\n
    • 1\u20134 years of experience in building science, restoration, or related work (new and\/or existing buildings)<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including:\n
        \n
      • Part 4 of the Nova Scotia Building Code<\/li>\n
      • CSA A23.3 (Concrete Design)<\/li>\n
      • CSA O86 (Wood Design)<\/li>\n
      • CSA S16 (Steel Design)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Comfortable working at heights and performing site inspections<\/li>\n
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines<\/li>\n
      • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability<\/li>\n
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)<\/li>\n
      • Valid driver\u2019s license and access to a reliable vehicle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
