Junior\/Intermediate Electrical Technologist \/ Draftsperson – Mississauga<\/strong><\/div>\n
About the Opportunity<\/strong><\/div>\n
A well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Junior to intermediate Electrical Technologist\/Draftsperson to join its growing team in Ontario. The Role<\/strong><\/div>\n
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hydroelectric and power generation sector, working on electrical systems that span from generation equipment to balance-of-plant (BOP) and associated high-voltage transmission systems, including protection and control.<\/div>\n
You will support engineers and designers by producing high-quality technical drawings and models, contributing to design development, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver successful project outcomes.<\/div>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings and documentation based on design information, specifications, and direction from engineers and project managers<\/li>\n
  • Translate field data and preliminary design concepts into clear, coordinated technical drafts for review<\/li>\n
  • Develop 2D electrical drawings using AutoCAD and\/or MicroStation, including:\n
      \n
    • Single-line diagrams<\/li>\n
    • Wiring and power layouts<\/li>\n
    • Cable routing and grounding layouts<\/li>\n
    • PLC cabinet drawings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Create 3D cable tray models using Revit<\/li>\n
    • Revise and update drawings based on internal and client feedback<\/li>\n
    • Assist in the design process by developing sketches, diagrams, and preliminary layouts<\/li>\n
    • Produce as-built drawings from inspection notes and field markups<\/li>\n
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet quality standards, schedules, and budget objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      About You<\/strong><\/div>\n
        \n
      • Certified by, or actively working toward certification with, OACETT<\/li>\n
      • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within an engineering consulting environment<\/li>\n
      • Graduate of a three-year engineering technology program or equivalent<\/li>\n
      • Working knowledge of electrical design principles and systems<\/li>\n
      • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office<\/li>\n
      • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills<\/li>\n
      • Positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies<\/li>\n
      • Experience drafting electrical power equipment and systems is considered an asset<\/li>\n
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team<\/li>\n
      • Occasional travel to project sites may be required<\/li>\n
      • Valid driver\u2019s license and ability to undergo security clearance checks<\/li>\n
