As the Chief Electrical Estimator<\/strong>, you will be at the helm of the estimating department, guiding the team, shaping processes, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, competitive, and industry leading electrical project bids. This is a pivotal leadership role with direct impact on business success, project continuity, and market competitiveness.<\/div>\n
You\u2019ll work closely with the Division Manager and partner with multiple departments to ensure every estimate reflects technical excellence, efficiency, and strategic value.

          What are the Responsibilities?<\/strong><\/div>\n
            \n
          • Lead & Elevate the Estimating Department<\/li>\n
          • Manage day to day operations of the Electrical Estimating team<\/li>\n
          • Direct, mentor, and develop junior and senior estimators<\/li>\n
          • Foster teamwork, innovation, and consistent high-quality output<\/li>\n
          • Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labour, and equipment<\/li>\n
          • Analyze bid documents, drawings, and project specs<\/li>\n
          • Evaluate tenders, advise on award recommendations, and participate in negotiations<\/li>\n
          • Maintain consistency with internal estimating policies and procedures<\/li>\n
          • Establish and maintain tendering processes and cost monitoring systems<\/li>\n
          • Coordinate pricing packages with suppliers, subcontractors, architects, designers, and owners<\/li>\n
          • Support tender reviews, site visits, hand off meetings, and project closing sessions<\/li>\n
          • Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, clients, and vendors<\/li>\n
          • Maintain a strong market presence to secure future work opportunities<\/li>\n
          • Update supplier and subcontractor directories to ensure competitive pricing<\/li>\n
          • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, materials, and construction methodologies<\/li>\n
          • Ensure estimates reflect the most up to date industry practices<\/li>\n
          • Conduct material and equipment purchasing for awarded projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            What are the requirements?<\/strong><\/div>\n
              \n
            • Effective communication and client interaction skills<\/li>\n
            • Analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving<\/li>\n
            • Accountability\u2014both personal and team-wide<\/li>\n
            • Strong collaboration in cross-functional environments<\/li>\n
            • Degree or Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management (asset)<\/li>\n
            • Qualified electrical trades experience may substitute for formal education<\/li>\n
            • 10\u201315+ years of electrical estimating experience<\/li>\n
            • Experience as a Chief Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator (commercial sector preferred)<\/li>\n
            • Project management background is a strong asset<\/li>\n
            • Experience with design-build projects is an advantage<\/li>\n
            • Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Trimble, etc.)<\/li>\n
            • Strong knowledge of electrical construction best practices<\/li>\n
            • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)<\/li>\n
            • Excellent organizational and time management skills<\/li>\n
            • Ability to travel throughout Greater Vancouver for site visits<\/li>\n
            • Clean Class 5 BC driver\u2019s license and abstract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
