Our client, a well-established North American manufacturer is seeking a Customs Coordinator <\/strong>to manage cross-border shipments and ensure full compliance with Canadian import regulations.<\/div>\n
This role is ideal for someone with experience in customs, freight forwarding, or cross-border logistics who thrives in a detail-focused, process-driven environment.<\/div>\n
Role Overview<\/strong><\/div>\n
The Customs Coordinator<\/strong> is responsible for the compliant import of equipment from U.S. facilities into Canada. This includes preparing documentation, liaising with brokers and carriers, tracking shipments, and resolving customs clearance issues.<\/div>\n
This position plays a key role in ensuring shipments move efficiently across the U.S.\u2013Canada border while meeting all regulatory requirements.<\/div>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>\n
Documentation & Compliance<\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Prepare, review, and submit import documentation (commercial invoices, bills of lading, manifests, etc.)<\/li>\n
  • Ensure all shipments comply with Canadian customs and trade regulations<\/li>\n
  • Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes<\/li>\n
  • Monitor regulatory updates and adjust processes as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Clearance & Coordination<\/strong><\/div>\n
      \n
    • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams<\/li>\n
    • Coordinate cross-border trucking and shipment logistics<\/li>\n
    • Track shipments and provide timely updates on status and ETAs<\/li>\n
    • Resolve customs delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues<\/li>\n
    • Troubleshoot customs delays, discrepancies, or clearance concerns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Operational Support<\/strong><\/div>\n
        \n
      • Process invoicing, billing adjustments, and related documentation<\/li>\n
      • Maintain shipment data within internal systems<\/li>\n
      • Support reporting and continuous improvement initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n
          \n
        • Experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or cross-border logistics required<\/li>\n
        • Knowledge of Canadian import regulations and cross-border shipping processes<\/li>\n
        • Familiarity with HTS codes and customs documentation<\/li>\n
        • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills<\/li>\n
        • Experience with customs\/logistics software considered an asset<\/li>\n
        • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities<\/li>\n
        • Strong communication and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n
        • Bachelor\u2019s degree is an asset with 2+ years of related experience required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
