Location: Hawkesbury, Ontario (Eastern Ontario region) <\/div>\n

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join a patient-centered healthcare team in Hawkesbury, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and other specimens, performing patient testing, and delivering an exceptional patient experience grounded in empathy, professionalism, and care.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You will work closely with a collaborative team while upholding quality standards, regulatory requirements, and service excellence in a fast-paced clinical setting.<\/div>\n

Bilingualism is considered an asset.<\/div>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/div>\n
    \n
  • \n
    Provide a best-in-class patient experience by delivering courteous, compassionate, and professional service<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Perform venipuncture and collect blood and other specimens in accordance with established procedures<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Accurately enter patient and test information, including Ministry of Health requisitions<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Conduct ECGs, Holter monitor hookups, and collections related to urine, drug and alcohol testing, paternity testing, and other required procedures<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Sort, prepare, and ensure specimens and documentation meet SOP requirements for transport to the laboratory<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Adhere to protocols for handling acceptable and unacceptable samples<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Contribute to quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    What You Bring<\/div>\n
      \n
    • \n
      Completion of Secondary School<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Graduation from a Laboratory Assistant or Medical Laboratory Assistant program, including formal phlebotomy training<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy with the ability to reassure and support anxious patients<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Strong customer service mindset with genuine care for patient well-being<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Exceptional attention to detail and ability to self-manage in a deadline-driven environment<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • \n
      Strong verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual capabilities are an asset<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
