Health & Safety Coordinator <\/div>\n
Responsibilities:<\/div>\n
    \n
  1. Maintain the current H & S Program:<\/li>\n
  2. Ensure all policies in use contain the current Legislative requirements (inform H&S Department of errors or omissions).<\/li>\n
  3. Ensure that all Safe Work Practices & Safe Work (job) Procedures present on each job site.<\/li>\n
  4. Prepare site-specific risk assessments and site-specific Safe Work Procedures as required.<\/li>\n
  5. Ensure that all workers & supervisors have the current legislated H&S training, and each person can produce a valid training card to Ministry Inspectors when on the job site<\/li>\n
  6. Arrange & provide training to the workers & supervisors as required and communicate the schedule with the H&S Department<\/li>\n
  7. Ensure that all legislative Posting Requirements are present on job sites<\/li>\n
  8. Ensure work plans are present on all projects when Working at Heights.<\/li>\n
  9. Ensure Emergency Response documentation including site specific Fall Arrest Rescue procedure is understood by all parties working on site and available on site <\/li>\n
  10. Maintain frequent contact via email and telephone with the Health & Safety Department National Manager in Ontario<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Enforce the Implementation of the H & S program<\/li>\n
    2. Visit job sites and conduct spot inspections of site documentation\/reports and equipment<\/li>\n
    3. Maintain records of site visits.<\/li>\n
    4. Ensure site Safety & Toolbox Talks are being done (safety talks are provided by H&S Department and use of local site-specific safety talks). <\/li>\n
    5. Ensure Practices & Procedures are being followed.<\/li>\n
    6. Conduct in house training sessions as required and on an annual basis in tandem with the H&S Department.<\/li>\n
    7. Conduct accident\/incident investigations<\/li>\n
    8. Interact with Ministry Inspectors as required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        \n
      1. Involvement with Injury Claims (assisting H&S Manager)<\/li>\n
      2. As per the Return-to-work Program<\/li>\n
      3. H&S Department shall be informed of all injuries \/ Investigations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          \n
        1. Provide documents and reports requested by TRG-H&S Department<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          The following are examples of the type of information that maybe requested<\/div>\n
          1. Workplace injury reports and case management documents<\/div>\n
          2. Statistical data<\/div>\n
          3. Comments on existing policies and programs<\/div>\n
          Ideal Previous Experience of Candidate<\/div>\n
            \n
          1. familiar with WorkSafe BC<\/li>\n
          2. familiar with construction activities<\/li>\n
          3. organizing training sessions & provide H&S training in tandem with plans from the H&S Department<\/li>\n
          4. familiar with BC provincial H&S ACTs, Regulations & Codes <\/li>\n
          5. report writing skills<\/li>\n
          6. Health & Safety Certificates of training<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
            The ideal candidate shall<\/div>\n
              \n
            1. have two (2) years of experience in a Health and Safety Role with a company in the construction industry.<\/li>\n
            2. have Knowledge and Training with the Risk Assessment process & identification of hazards<\/li>\n
            3. have experience with functioning on a construction site and conducting\/documenting inspections and accident investigations<\/li>\n
            4. have experience and\/or confidence to participate or lead in-house training review sessions<\/li>\n
            5. Note: a formal degree or diploma in the H&S discipline is an asset but not a requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
