The Director, HR is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle HR support. The position serves as a consultant to business leadership on HR related matters including industrial and employee relations. The incumbent will implement and administer sound HR practices, maintain positive relations with the union while creating a work environment favorable to employee engagement and development.<\/div>\n<div>Key responsibilities include:<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Establishes and coordinates the annual strategic objectives for the human resources department for all of Canada, based on the needs and operational goals of the company<\/li>\n<li>Provides overall direction of human resources and ensures that activities that contribute to the achievement of company objectives comply with labor, health and safety laws and regulations and environmental requirements<\/li>\n<li>Lead organizational development processes that address issues such as talent management, performance management, workforce planning, workforce development and employee retention<\/li>\n<li>Establish and lead the recruitment and integration\/disintegration process for all white- and blue-collar workers, using strategic recruitment and hiring practices<\/li>\n<li>Determine and recommend employee labor relations practices, and act as the company&#039;s representative in collective bargaining negotiations<\/li>\n<li>Manage HR practices, such hiring, training, compensation and benefit administration, talent development, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for Canadian facilities<\/li>\n<li>Lead and ensure the development of the human resources team in place and act as a coach to the HR team members.
