As a Lead Hand you will be required to:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n- Assign work details and duties to machinist.<\/li>\n
- Communicate timelines and adhere to production goals regarding due dates and ship times.<\/li>\n
- Provide expertise and instruct on different techniques.<\/li>\n
- Communicate design issues and time sensitive changes.<\/li>\n
- Inspect work in progress and ensure completed products meet required standards and deadlines.<\/li>\n
- Interpret complex shop drawings and documents. <\/li>\n
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Other Responsibilities:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n- Read and interpret technical drawings, determine materials required<\/li>\n
- Measure, cut, shape metal using appropriate tools and equipment <\/li>\n
- Weld or bolt sections together<\/li>\n
- Execute welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.<\/li>\n
- Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.<\/li>\n
- Maintain high-quality welding equipment and tools in excellent condition.<\/li>\n
- Verify accuracy of finished product<\/li>\n
- Assembly to test fitment and packing for shipping <\/li>\n
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Qualifications \/ Experience<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication<\/li>\n
- Experience with custom metal fabrication, architectural finishes or trade show work is preferred<\/li>\n
- Ability to problem solve and create unique custom work<\/li>\n
- Artistic and creative ability<\/li>\n
- Strong attention to detail and craftmanship. <\/li>\n
- Ability to TIG weld<\/li>\n
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead hand role. <\/li>\n
- Accuracy and attention to detail.<\/li>\n
- Able to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and work well with deadlines.<\/li>\n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n
- Availability to work occasional weekends on projects as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
