Job Summary: To manage the shift lead hand, shipper and receiver and warehouse support staff. Proactively review our finished good storage location to meet all safety requirements.

Required Education and Experience:

  • College diploma and/or combination of Grade 12 with minimum 2 years of hands-on Supervisory experience in a related field
  • Good working knowledge of CMS and shipping related program
  • Excellent English Communication Skills (oral and written)
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent motivator and mentor
  • Ability to organize workload of self and subordinates and to maintain all shipping related records correctly, use sound judgement in dispersing confidential information related to employee’s data as required
  • Support and contribute to the Quality Systems and Environmental Management Systems Requirements
  • Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
  • Hold a valid FL counterbalance certification is an asset

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the shift Lead Hands, Shippers and Receivers and Warehouse Support staff
  • Ensures all Shipping personnel are following customers specific requirements related to shipments
  • Responsible to train all personnel within the shipping department to meet company’s target on productivity and efficiency
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure no interruption of shipping requirements
  • Frequent communicates with Coatings as required to complete successful transfer of goods
  • Trains, develops, mentors, directs, and disciplines subordinates to ensure a productive, efficient, and competent workforce to meet scheduled requirements in a safe environment
  • Provides regular constructive feedback and communication to subordinates formally and informally on company policies, work procedures and work standards etc. and to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures at all times
  • Makes recommendation to Senior Management and Human Resources Manager on the confirmation and/or disposition of employees within the probationary period
  • Responsible for ensuring all training within the department is completed in a timely manner and documented
  • In conjunction with Shipping personnel, to set up shipments when shipping requests are received
  • Creates bill of ladings and custom documents as required
  • Ensures ASN’s are accepted by our customers based on their timeline and expectations, and all documentation is maintained on a timely manner
  • Responsible to maintain good housekeeping on work area and department
  • Follows company policies on Health, Safety & Environment and PPE requirements
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspect of the job and to encourage all subordinates to do the same
  • Reviews customer releases as a secondary process to Customer service representative
  • Manages inbound/outbound logistics
  • Checks GM service SPOC site daily for past due parts notifications. Response for notification must be made within 3 days

Working Environment:

  • 100% plant floor (PPE required)
  • Flexible hours as required

Physical Demands:

  • Require communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Lifting and pushing as needed
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods of time

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies, and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes, or forklifts.
  • All employees must follow all LOTO procedures
  • Comply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program
