Role: Senior Human Resource Director

Status: Permanent – Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct a top performing team by proactively guiding, leading and coaching direct offering constructive criticism, shaping team members for wider roles and responsibilities to inspire development and advancement
  • Garnish a top class talent resource and recruitment based upon intelligent and innovative recruitment strategies
  • Fully grasp the business’ pursuits and challenges to assist organizational structures, organizational ambitions focused upon both team and individual performance therein
  • Harness strong relationships within the organization and serve as a respected advisor to a range of leaders therein
  • Assist and guide the professional development of leadership through a range of strategies, including performance and talent management.
  • Provide effective management to the Health and Safety teams and all related projects and ensuring that safety is premium and effectively promoted, with all incidents logged and recorded
  • Oversee compliance measures aligned to regulations and laws by upholding relevant policies and procedures, this would include WSIB, OSHA, FLSA, normes du travail, CNESST.
  • Learn our internal system comprehensively and it functions to track time and attendance, pay policies, HR policy sharing, comms and reporting
  • Promote employee branding and value proposition initiatives, whilst implementing Development and Talent programs, creating a clear and concise HR Strategy which is clear and concise and adopted across the board
  • Enhance and improve talent strategies to recognize and enhance top performers to grow talent from within and align talent capabilities with emerging business needs, readying the organization to meet future workforce needs
  • Implement and Manage Talent & Development programs, whilst spearheading employee engagement surveys via the internal system
  • Lead the development and delivery of company-wide programs, related to attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining top talent, whilst measuring and enhancing engagement between sites
  • Organize effective and inspirational employee appreciation events

Qualifications:

  • University degree
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, and at least 5 years of proven success at an executive level of a growing company
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a manufacturing and entrepreneurial environment
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US employment law and related legislation
  • Relationship builder with the ability to foster trust and to influence decision making at all levels
  • Ability and passion to coach, motivate, direct, mentor and develop a team of HR professionals identifying the best people for various positions
  • Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas including health and safety, talent sourcing, compensation and HRIS
  • Possess executive presence
  • Strong project delivery and team management capabilities
  • Takes risks, learns from their mistakes, builds trust, and is a role model to others. Has a “hands-on” style; is focused on achieving desired results
  • Creates an environment where people enjoy working hard towards achieving the mission, including creating an environment of fun and celebration while delivering results
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time during each year
