As a Senior Estimator, you will play a vital role in our organization by providing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your strong understanding of design-build methodologies, along with your ability to evaluate project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities, will contribute to the successful completion of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for design-build construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other related expenses.

2. Project Analysis: Analyze project requirements, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential challenges, constructability issues, and cost implications.

3. Value Engineering: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop value engineering solutions that optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.

4. Bid Management: Manage the entire bid process, including reviewing project scopes, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids, and making recommendations to senior management.

5. Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate project risks, such as schedule constraints, site conditions, and regulatory compliance, and provide cost-effective solutions to mitigate those risks.

6. Cost Control: Monitor project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to stay within budget while maintaining quality standards.

7. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and project reports to support decision-making processes and ensure accurate project documentation.

8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to align cost estimates with project goals, timelines, and quality requirements.

9. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest construction industry trends, market conditions, material costs, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to enhance estimating practices.

10. Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, sharing your expertise and knowledge in design-build projects to develop a highly skilled estimating team.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in estimation or project management are desirable.

2. Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on design-build projects. Demonstrated expertise in conceptual estimating, budget development, and value engineering.

3. Technical Skills: Proficient in using construction estimating software, such as RSMeans, CostX, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and building codes.

4. Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and evaluate cost implications effectively.

5. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate cost estimates, proposals, and project reports to diverse stakeholders.

6. Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, fostering positive relationships and promoting a culture of open communication and knowledge sharing.

7. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring precise cost estimates and documentation.

8. Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
