Heavy Duty Mechanic – Apprentice Or Journeyman – $46.48 Per Hour

Fuze HR Solutions (div. Alberta) is currently looking for a Journeyman or Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic in the Radium BC area to support our customer specialized in the Open Pit Mining sector.

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, productive and efficient fleet of heavy duty equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities of the Heavy Duty Mechanic:

• Maintenance, repair, service and inspection of heavy equipment and vehicles(haul trucks, bulldozers, excavators, graders, and other heavy construction equipment)
• Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
• Testing repaired equipment
• Cleaning, lubrication and other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Service attachments such as blades, buckets & booms
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Follow standard operating procedures

Qualifications of the Heavy Duty Mechanic:

• Red seal Journeyman or Apprentice level 3 or 4 Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
• 3 years experience with Heavy Equipment
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with Caterpillar general line products would be considered an asset
• Engine and other component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
• Transmission, hydraulic testing would be considered as asset
• Familiarity with CAT SIS software
• Welding, Gouging experience considered an asset
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
