Role: General Manager

Responsibilities:
- Accountable full the responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of our business
- Placing Health and Safety at the forefront of our operation, adhering to company policy and assure base and boating operations are compliant with regulations and industry best practice
- Supervise, mentor and lead the team to operational improvement and efficiency to impact our growth strategy, whilst improving upon operational systems and processes
- Take a hands on approach to the recruitment, coaching and career development of the team
- Assure that staffing levels and systems are put in in place to fulfil operational requirements and controlling costs within the budget
- Organized resources effectively to maximum effect on the fleet, guiding the technical / cleaning team to ensure the boats are well presented, assuring overall quality meets company standards
- Adopt responsibility for the office, reception and base administration reviewing all systems and processes locally, dividing time between office-based and practical responsibilities
- Ensure all enquiries (internal and external) are handled professionally and promptly, as well as complaints and third party claims in accordance with our guidelines
- Manage supplier orders, invoices and payments, monitoring spend versus budget through the Purchase Order Register / Tracker
- Maintain accurate records of Stock Management, using adjustments as stock is consumed or increased
- Accountable for annual required compliance paperwork pertaining to licenses and MOT compliance of the fleet
- Assign staff planning, accounting for customer call-out support during their cruise and notifying prepare payroll for submission on a monthly basis
- Accommodate enquiries from internal departments e.g. finance, whilst accounting for monies using the in-house company system efficiently
- Conduct boat briefings and customer training is conducted to a high standard, assuring customer confidence – whilst ensuring the fleet is in pristine condition
- Ensure the customer experience is assured via technical assistance, breakdown call outs and general tourist information, in tandem with assuring high standards for VIP bookings
- Conduct updates on progress regularly to the Regional Manager and accurately relay info to other departments in the business as required
- Be assured that all base buildings, equipment, boats, assets, cash, valuables are secure from damage/loss/theft and that any incidents are reported promptly
Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic, ambitious, strong general management skills and experience
- Previous management experience in the tourism industry
- Recreational boating experience or inland waterway license an asset
- Technical/Maintenance Skills
- Strong organizer and leader
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build internal/external relationships and teams capable of providing exceptional service to customers
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to get results
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work with deadlines, targets and goals
- Ability to work autonomously
- English, other languages would be an asset
