JOB TITLE: Finance Officer

DEPARTMENT: Financing & Tax

REPORTS TO: Finance Manager

LOCATION: Granby, Quebec

SUMMARY: This is a full time position that provides the financing & tax support for Project Management. This position will compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the duties listed below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

·Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.

·Creates and develops visual presentations for department.

·Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.

·Sort documents by account name or number and process invoices for payment.

·General Accounting.

·Post transactions to journals and ledgers.

·Balance books and prepare profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements.

·Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information.

·Takes messages and answers all routine and non-routine questions as much as possible.

·Maintains and updates filing system for the department. Retrieves information from files upon request.

·Handles confidential and non-routine information in a professional manner.

·Works independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects.

·At the request of the reporting manager, may manage special projects which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and organizing companywide events.

·Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc. Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Will be responsible for the accuracy and clarity of final copy.

·Maintain communication with all levels of management within the company and outside vendors.

·Codes and enters into software program all vendor invoices.

·Ensures timely disbursement of funds.

·Enters debits/credits, resolves billing/payment discrepancies.

·Reconciles all bank accounts and contacts proper bank personnel to correct errors.

·Prepares monthly payroll and makes related wire transfers.

·Administers petty cash fund.

·Compiles information and prepares spreadsheets to assist Accounting Manager and outside auditors in internal and external statement preparations.

·Tracks company charitable contributions.

·Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

·Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

·Supports budget and forecasting activities.

·Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.

·Works with the CPA Firm to ensure a clean and timely yearend audit and tax matters.

·Progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

·Supports General Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.


·Excellent mathematical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs a plus.

·Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

·Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

·Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.

·Must be proficient in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

·Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

·College degree preferred; high school diploma required.

·Five years minimum of accounting/administrative assistance experience.

·Korean language skills an asset.

·Effective time management skills.
