Director of Procurement
Overview:
The Director of Procurement leads procurement strategy, vendor management, and sourcing operations to deliver optimal value in cost, quality, and service. This role ensures compliance, drives operational efficiency, and supports organizational growth and resilience.
The Director of Procurement leads procurement strategy, vendor management, and sourcing operations to deliver optimal value in cost, quality, and service. This role ensures compliance, drives operational efficiency, and supports organizational growth and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and purchasing operations
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships; conduct performance evaluations
- Manage procurement policies, budgets, KPIs, and ensure contract compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement and inventory teams
- Implement procurement technologies and leverage data for informed decision-making
- Ensure compliance with regulations, manage supply chain risks, and promote ethical sourcing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management
- Strong negotiation, financial, and analytical skills; experience with procurement systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred:
- CPSM or similar certification
- Experience in international sourcing and global supply chain management
- Industry background in manufacturing or heavy industry is an asset
