CONTROLLER – Mississauga/Oakville

We are exclusively recruiting for a financial CONTROLLER to join our Clients’ management team. The Controller has accountability ownership of all tactical and strategic responsibilities.

Our client manufactures custom-machined products to Tier1 & 2 suppliers and operates a full-cycle distribution service of ‘B2B’ sales of high-demand industrial finished products; marketing and selling to a variety of industry verticals.

Your responsibilities & accountabilities as the senior ‘Go To’ Finance Professional:

  • ·Ensure A/R, A/P, Bank Reconciliations, accruals, JE’s are accurate, balanced sub-ledgers
  • ·Complete month-end and year-end close process
  • ·Manage financial transactions, consolidation, and reporting
  • ·Prepare & verify financial reports for periodic processes & Management Team
  • ·Manage CRA and other agency audits and inquires
  • ·Manage all external audit inquiries (quarterly / annual)
  • ·Perform profitability analysis by product line including cost basis, variance analysis and KPIs
  • ·Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and transaction consolidation
  • ·Identify technical accounting issues, research, summarize and implement solutions
  • ·Manage Capital Expenditure controls, forecasting and reporting
  • ·Work closely with department managers to ensure valid process and actual data costs, analysis are reviewed adhering within budgets
  • ·Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings with the appropriate federal and provincial agencies
  • ·Manage banking functions and maintain relationships.
  • ·Oversee HR & Payroll support of functions is competently and accurately executed

The required qualifications of the CONTROLLER:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance. CMA, CGA ** CPA ** or ‘In-Progress’ acceptable
  • Minimum 5 years of proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • ERP experience and able to oversee a mid-size 2023 system implementation
