Brake Press Operator

A leading steel door manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality products is seeking a Press Brake Operator for the facility in Oakville Ontario.

As a Brake Press Operator at you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the accurate and efficient bending of metal components for our steel doors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in bending metal and possess excellent math skills. Attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Operate Brake Press:

– Set up and operate brake press machines to bend metal according to specified requirements.

– Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and adjustments.

Quality Control:

– Monitor the production process to ensure that finished products meet quality standards and specifications.

– Conduct regular inspections of materials and finished products to identify and address any defects or deviations.

Material Handling

– Load and unload materials onto the brake press machine.

– Select and install appropriate tooling and dies for each job.

Mathematical Proficiency:

– Utilize strong math skills to calculate measurements, angles, and dimensions, ensuring precise bending of metal components.

Safety Compliance:

– Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

– Identify and report any safety concerns or issues promptly.

Collaboration:

– Work closely with team members, including supervisors, machine setters, and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals.

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Brake Press Operator, specifically in bending metal.

– Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations and measurements accurately.

– Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.

– Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.

– Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

– Ability to lift and move heavy materials.

– Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
