The Bioinformatician will be responsible for the following:

• Swiftly and efficiently resolving customer queries related to workflows, tools, and technical matters.
• Empowering scientists and researchers to access various data types promptly.
• Assisting users in executing and overseeing workflows/pipelines for analysis.
• Facilitating the ordering and management of sample requests.
• Enabling visualization of genomics data linked to sequencing projects, clinical trials, and internal initiatives.
• Addressing user inquiries concerning biological resource sets and bioinformatics pipelines.
• Identifying and troubleshooting failures in bioinformatics workflows.
• Offering users clear, step-by-step guidance and assistance.
• Escalating unresolved issues to higher levels of support when necessary.
• Following up with clients to ensure the functionality of their systems.
• Compiling customer feedback and potential suggestions for product enhancements.
• Contributing to the development of technical documentation and manuals.
• Demonstrating an aptitude for targeted questioning to diagnose problems accurately.
• Approaching challenges with a problem-solving mindset while providing precise technical direction.

The required qualifications for the Bioinformatician are:

• 2-3 years of experience and a minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or related fields.
• Proficiency in analyzing high-throughput data, particularly NGS data.
• Capability in handling and interpreting whole exome/genome sequencing data.
• Familiarity with workflow management systems.
• Competence in navigating Linux-based servers.
• Adherence to sound data science practices and a grasp of data complexity.
• Strong grasp of biological concepts, with a desire to expand knowledge in this area.
• Previous exposure to High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
• Comfort using issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Skillful debugging capabilities.
• Demonstrated aptitude for providing excellent customer service.
• Exceptional communication skills, including advanced proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English.
