Our client is currently looking for a Bindery Operator to join its continuously growing and evolving team. At the Bindery Operator, you will report to the production supervisor, your main task will be to run specialized equipment and machines that collate, cut, fold, gather, glue, stich, and drill printed material to produce quality orders.
●Ensures that production goals are met with a high standard of quality.
●Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and to keep finishing equipment in running condition.
●Examines product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality specifications.
●Pulls and inspects frequent run samples and notifies the Bindery Supervisor in the event quality standards are not being met.
●Cleans, lubricates, and maintains assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.
●Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
●Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
●Will be responsible for accurate recording of production, and communicate this information to the proper areas
●Able to produce jobs in a timely manner
●Must be mechanically inclined
●Be able to train and manage a Crew of individuals as required
●Be able to effectively communicate needs and ideas throughout the department
●Previous experience is an asset
●Ability to conduct maintenance on equipment
●High school diploma or equivalency
●Good verbal and written communication skills
●Ability to work independently and within a team environment
●Meticulous, bondable, reliable
●Adhere to Company policies and procedures
●Previous experience in a printing environment is considered an asset
