Fuze HR is currently hiring an Accounting Clerk for one of our client in Mississauga


The Accounting Clerk is required to handle Toronto Branch accounting functions along with some Admin duties. This position reports to the Branch Manager but will take daily operational direction from the Team Leader.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Main duties and responsibilities, not all tasks)

  • AP requisitions for payments to subcontractors/vendors
  • Requisitions for general expenses, including rush cheque requisitions
  • Preparation of transfer slips for corrections & adjustments
  • Clear A/P and A/R open items
  • Sales reporting invoices
  • Wire transfer deposits and applying payment into accounting system
  • Processing credit card payments and applying payments into accounting system
  • Accrue monthly expenses
  • Arranging cheque and cash deposits
  • Maintain petty cash and keep receipts, post to proper accounts for each department
  • Keep track of office supply inventory and order additional supplies as needed
  • Assist when required in monitoring aging A/R balances, follow up on overdue accounts and communicate internally
  • Assist with collections on past due accounts
  • Assist with resolving payment problems, e.g. duplicated payments, refunds
  • Prepare documents folder for General Manager to sign before sending to Head Office
  • Other tasks and projects as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES (Experience, knowledge, competencies)

  • Minimum 2-3 years of direct work experience in a similar position
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices
  • Must have above average Excel and Word skills
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal skills
  • Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions
  • Able to multi-task, remain objective in stressful situations
  • Ability to work overtime on occasion

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
