Would you like to work in a constantly evolving environment? We have a position available for a Senior Operations Finance Analyst to work for a striving company that produces and supplies packaging for companies across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis to support Operations and Procurement functions. This role involves monthly financial and management reporting, budget variance analysis, forecasting and financial modeling. The role monitors financial and operational trends in order to help formulate business strategies and provide financial insight to key organizational stakeholders.


  • Financial Reporting, including analysis of weekly operational results and conducting regular variance reviews with supervisors/managers
  • Perform month-end financial close and year-end audit for the Toronto facility
  • Lead financial operating budget and quarterly forecast process for Toronto facility
  • Analysis of financials supported by developing a strong understanding of plant operations in order to guide the Toronto plant towards a cost leadership position
  • Ability to identify areas for improved operational efficiency by combining your financial acumen with your passion for understanding our operations
  • Identify root cause drivers of material operating variances and provide solutions to mitigate as a result of building a good understanding of our manufacturing environment
  • Drive forward on internal controls by taking accountability for ensuring full implementation of policies & controls throughout the Toronto facility
  • Direct the physical inventory of finished goods, raw materials and W.I.P
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by driving a continuous improvement culture, and acting as sponsor, lead, facilitator or participant in specific CI projects and Kaizens
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members in operations and procurement by building credibility and understanding varied perspectives on issues and opportunities
  • Other duties, as assigned


  • Accounting designation CPA (CMA, CGA or CA) and university degree
  • Computer savvy with extensive experience in Microsoft Office software and strong/advanced Excel
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced innovative manufacturing environment with many competing priorities and deadlines
  • Three or more years’ experience in a financial analysis role in a manufacturing operations environment
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing an asset
