We are currently looking for a Senior Financial analyst to be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the quarterly and annual external IFRS financial statements and MD&A, as well as other public disclosure documents. This role will also be the primary liaison with the external auditors as well as help with complexities on the corporate finance team such as Acquisitions and Special projects

Your tasks as a Senior financial Analyst:

  • Assist with coordinating the audit / review of financial statements and annual internal control testing audits
  • Assist with the preparation of draft quarterly and annual financial statements, financial statement notes and MD&A in accordance with IFRS
  • Assist in the completion of the Annual Report, Management Information Circular and Annual Information Form
  • Research technical accounting for complex transactions, evaluate the impact on the consolidated financial statements and draft appropriate journal entries
  • Prepare period-end journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation and related elimination entries Compile quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, related Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and other public company reporting documents
  • Prepare documentation, compile position papers and liaise with the external auditors during the quarterly reviews and year-end audit
  • Actively participate in the implementation and adoption of new accounting standards
  • Assist with lender reporting requirements (including borrowing base reporting, covenant compliance and forecasting of financial results)
  • Assist with M&A activities both pre and post-acquisition (including due diligence, post-acquisition accounting, and integration of accounting policies and procedures)
  • Assist with the preparation and consolidation of the company’s annual budget
  • Assist with tax accounting and preparation of tax returns
  • Assist with the implementation of the new ERP system
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects, as necessary Qualifications

Requirements for the Senior Financial Analyst:

  • Accounting Designation (CPA, CA)
  • University Degree (Accounting)
  • 3+ years of financial reporting experience or experience at a CA firm
  • Exceptional MS Office Suite and accounting software knowledge (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Great personality and team-oriented attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, initiative and ability to multi-task
  • Good time management skills, enabling completion of responsibilities within deadlines. Time requirements may include overtime
