If so, this is the ideal job for you! We are currently searching for a welder/assistant fabricator to join our team of professionals. As a welder, you will be working from 7:30AM to 4:00PM while reporting to the Operations Manager or Lead Hand.

Your tasks as a welder/assistant fabricator:

  • Perform and or supervise the set up of all the production equipment
  • Operate machinery to assist in meeting daily production goals
  • Assist with process flow improvements where it is required
  • Assist in the manufacturing of wire form jigs & special form tooling for customer parts
  • Assist in the manufacturing of tooling for various machines
  • Assist in the daily maintenance & repairs of production equipment
  • Assist in packaging/shipping when necessary
  • Assist in quoting where necessary
  • Assist in prototype development
  • Perform inspections on items from fabricating including but not limited to: S & C wire; wire mesh & specialty products for customers.
  • Perform inspections on customer parts to ensure correct quantity, dimensional properties, material and other requirements as per customer drawing and work order
  • Inspecting for both quantity and quality of parts. Part quantities must match work order.
  • Daily on-job inspections of fabricated goods
  • Inspect equipment for quality related issues
  • Assist in training production staff members in the set up and operation of all production equipment
  • Follow the training schedule as set by Operations Manager
  • Assist the production staff to meet production volume objectives
  • Reort any unsafe work conditions or practices that are observed including fellow employees, equipment, and workplace conditions
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace at all times
  • Follow and adhere to the general plant safety rules at all times that are posted on the Health and Safety board
  • Not knowingly operating any faulty/defective or otherwise unsafe equipment
  • Only operate quipment that you have been trained on and feel that you can do so confidently and safely

The required qualifications for the welder:

  • Must be an individual that displays a positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn
  • An unwavering commitment to punctuality and attendance
  • Must have product knowledge – if not known, rapid retention is essential
  • TIG (GTAW) / MIG (GMAW) welding experience
  • Must have fabrication abilities with various types of metals/alloys
  • Must be a quick learner & self-starter
  • Must have excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have strong mathematical and numerical reasoning skills/aptitude
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
