Our Client, a global freight forwarder ranked within the ‘top-tier’ of supply-chain organisations in the world, is looking for a customs coordinator that is looking for an opportunity to take their current Customs and Freight Import experience to the next level with passion, enthusiasm and commitment.


  • Responsible for clearance of ocean, air, ground & LVS courier freight
  • Knowledge of EDI and manual release requests – daily preparation
  • Filings and documentation are in accordance with all customs
  • Prepare timely and accurate Import product invoicing, including month-end cost allocations and accruals
  • Process and submit refunds, drawback & claims
  • Generate invoice charges with Client rates
  • Able to follow company SOP’s – complying with corporate, regional and various Customs clearance policies and procedures
  • Clear understanding of the import/export terminology & supplier conditions

Requirements :

  • Clear communication skills – English language – oral, written & comprehension
  • Professional business correspondence & articulation
  • Liaise with international Customers as well as Overseas ‘Shipper’ office contacts with effective and efficient communications
  • High sense of urgency and ability to meet daily KPI deadlines
  • Ability to respond to email and telephone requests promptly and courteously
  • 2 years minimum import freight preferred – must have solid hands-on knowledge of Customs Tariffs & Classifications
  • Above-average planning skills – able to organise complex processes and execute to meet KPIs
  • Strong technology/computer skills – familiarity with ‘Cargo-wise’ software and proprietary freight forwarding systems
  • Available for ‘Call Out’ rotations 2 to 3 shifts per month & ‘After Hours’ Clearance

Compensation and additional provisions :

  • Laptop & Cell Phone provided
  • Salary range: $ 42 to $ 48,000 / year
  • Lucrative ‘Call Out’ incentives paid for each on-call transaction earning up to $500 per month

  • Respects and understands regulatory compliance and due diligence adherence
  • Broker or Ocean Import experience is acceptable with ongoing training & coaching provided

Schedule : Monday to Friday – 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM – 1 hour lunch
