We are currently looking for an Accounts payable to join our clients’ team of professionals. The ideal Accounts payable / Payroll Clerk will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing, analyzing and maintenance of accounts payable and payroll records. He/ She will perform a range of general clerical and accounting support functions, providing support to the Finance and Payroll department.

Your tasks as an Accounts payable:

  • Enters freight invoices the accounting system
  • Manages and maintains filing
  • Liaise with internal staff at all levels
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail
  • Produces payroll with our payroll system
  • Ensure delivery of timely and accurate payroll services
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates in the administration of the group insurance plan for employees
  • Produces monthly reports for our Accounting department (payroll journals, allocation report, vacation accrual report, etc.)
  • Administers and tracks employees on leave of absence
  • Responds to inquiries from employees
  • Updates employee files: rates, terminations, ROE, benefits, etc.
  • Verifies that all payroll input data required for processing has been received and entered in the payroll system
  • Compiles data in Excel spreadsheet, if required
  • Assists Payroll Supervisor with various T4 balancing & Year End processes
  • Scans and executes the electronic filing of completed and verified payroll input and documentation
  • Supports departmental business initiatives and resources to provide continuous improvement to projects and processes

Requirements for the Accounts Payable position:

  • Diploma of vocational Studies or College Diploma in Accounting
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in Accounts Payable/ Payroll
  • Proficiency in accounting/ payroll software, an asset
  • General understanding of payroll administration, legislation would be an asset
  • General math and data entry skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships
  • Bilingual (French / English) both spoken and written
