Bilingual Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position overview

Our internal accounting department is experiencing growth and we are presently seeking a bilingual collections and A/R technician for a permanent role within our department. To include collecting outstanding invoices with existing corporate clients with an increased focus on decreasing outstanding invoices, invoice discrepancies and maintaining excellent client relationships with existing corporate clients, processing of daily cash applications, entering deposits, risk management and sending out invoices.

Completes account reconciliations, posts all adjustments in A/R, follow up and follow through on all account charge backs as well as assisting with various accounting tasks. Assist customer service with order entry. Performs miscellaneous accounting tasks and client account service duties as required.

Bilingual Collections/ Accounts Receivable Technician

Permanent position

35-hours a week, Ville Saint-Laurent,

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all collection efforts/calls for our accounts receivable portfolio
  • Collecting on past due accounts using e-mail, phone calls or other furtherance methods
  • Documenting daily collections activity in our system
  • Researching and adjusting for payment variances, i.e. short/over payments
  • Researching and managing account disputes and billing discrepancies
  • Sending out invoices by email to customers on a weekly basis
  • Maintaining customer accounts, address, contact information
  • Preparing bank deposits and scanning cheques to financial institution
  • Some light filing, accounting, government and finance documents
Requirements:
  • 1-5 years experience in accounts receivables and collections environment
  • Strong communication skills, in English & French, with the ability to communicate with many levels of the organization
  • Ability to deal with customers in a friendly, courteous, timely and thorough manner
  • Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and apply proven relationship-building skills
  • Strong ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency
  • Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency
