Job Description

Our client is a growing manufacturer in Montreal. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer who will analyze and provide recommendations to assure on time products supply aiming an excellent customer service and cost optimization. The senior buyer will manage daily supply activities and maintain profitable partnerships with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain all data required by the ERP system to maintain item master and forecast data for vendors
  • Ensure timely delivery of the merchandise and ship dates are respected
  • Schedule new orders into the ERP system with planned delivery dates for a set group of vendors
  • Coordinate the return item to the supplier in order to get credit or replacement
  • Provide production with enough manufacturing material to cover minimum short term period
  • Assist the introduction process of products and their transition into supply chain process
  • Create reports for vendor quality reporting using data from industrial engineering inspection and assist in developing programs to increase vendor quality
  • Propose and develop new ideas regarding cost reduction and supply chain process

Requirements:

  • Education in operations management or related diploma or a combination between education and equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment,
  • Experience in continuous improvement of supply chain process (asset)
